After renaming a Domain's home directory, awstats did not update the Domains statistics anymore. In the appropiate awstats.domain.tld.conf file the LogFile was not changed to the new Location. /etc/webmin/virtualmin-awstats/awstats.pl did not Report any errors.
Because I noticed that issue late after 5 months, I can not say which Version of Virtualmin was present when renaming the Domain. That should be the Version used in May 2013.

Just recollecting, that this could be an issue with restoring/importing because I changed the hoster in May 2013 and moved the Domain to the new Server. I'm not sure if I have renamed the home Directory before the move or after.

This is a known issue which has been fixed already. However, if the log file rename happened before the fix, the path wouldn't be corrected after that.
