Command to run after making changes to an alias: chage FAILS

Hello Folks!

I face more issues, during creation of new users in domains from within virtualmin.

I have a couple of fairly simple scripts, one make use of command chage, why ? in order to force new users to change the provided password first time they login.

However, it does not work, chage is silently ignored, I have tried to analyze it, but it looks like something unknown somewhere silently breaks the function of chage.

I have found that a few other commands also operating on security related files also fails

Can someone take a look on this to, or at least explain how this is thougt to work if it is somekind of security function kicked in ?
