If a client is using off-site dns it would be nice if VM would show the records that need to be added for that domain.

Not a bad idea .. how about if there was a page that showed what DNS records Virtualmin would create if a DNS zone was enabled?

prefect and make that menu item appear if dns is not checked as a enabled feature

Looks for this in the next Virtualmin release.

cool !! So many times I wish I had asked for this when clients used offsite dns and need to know what to add.

I like this idea a lot. Seems like a brilliant no-brainer and will come in handy for some people.
I'll stick with my own solution, though, which is to let users download the DNS Zone-file and do whatever they want with it. That's the most powerful method. For instance, a pro-user can then write a tool that parses a zone file and sends the required API requests to some offsite DNS to add those exact records.
Yet another user might just simply take the Zone-file, remove the SOA-record/$ttl and then pasting the rest of the records into some sort of "raw zone edit" feature of their offsite DNS. Etc...
So there are already plenty of ways to solve offsite DNS just by grabbing the zone file. But still, great idea to make an easy web GUI for viewing it raw directly from virtualmin without having to go through the terminal.
