Dns reverse

I asked the manager of my ISP to do the reverse dns as follows:

mktconnection.com.br ns1.mktconnection.com.br......................177.1.138.43 ns2.mktconnection.com.br......................177.1.138.44

shackvirtual.com.br ns1.shackvirtual.com.br..........................177.1.138.45 ns2.shackvirtual.com.br..........................177.1.138.46

He informed me that it was done the reverse dns and sent me the following test:

;; Received 251 bytes from 193.0.9.1#53(f.in-addr-servers.arpa) in 198 ms

1.177.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN NS F.DNS.BR. 1.177.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN NS A.DNS.BR. 1.177.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN NS B.DNS.BR. 1.177.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN NS D.DNS.BR. 1.177.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN NS C.DNS.BR. ;; Received 129 bytes from 199.212.0.53#53(tinnie.arin.net) in 127 ms

;; Received 109 bytes from 200.160.0.10#53(A.DNS.BR) in 9 ms

When do tests to see if there is reverse dns I get this response:

Checking the reverse DNS IP [177.1.138.43]: $ Host 177.1.138.43 Host 43.138.1.177.in-addr.arpa not found: 2 (SERVFAIL)

Result: ERROR, IP [177.1.138.43] does not resolve to a valid host.

I wonder if there is any more local configuration I have to do in named (bind) to run my reverse correctly.

My ISP tells me they've done all I had to do to reverse dns and that I should do some local settings on linux for this to work.

Proceeds this statement??

When I try to test the reverse DNS, it reports that it's not setup yet.

That may just mean that the changes your ISP made aren't active yet.

There's nothing more you need to do in Cloudmin though, the changes that need done are at your ISP.
