Hey guys,
I have a couple of sites that are using a lot of bandwidth and I'm trying to track down the source of the usage.
In AWStats the bandwidth indicated is nowhere near what is reported in Bandwidth monitoring. i.e it's a lot less in AWStats. And for the type of site and number of visitors, the indicated usage seems abnormally high.
How do I get a detailed / accurate reading for where this traffic is coming from?
Thanks, Ryan

In Virtualmin, does it show the site's bandwidth usage is entirely due to web traffic, or is there some mail or FTP usage?

Hey,
thanks for getting back to me .. The usage mainly shows web traffic
Mail transferred (351.58 kB) Website traffic (4.60 GB)
AWstats reports an average of 40mb BW per day

Wow, 4.60 GB is a lot of traffic.
Is there a single day responsible for most of this according to Virtualmin, or is it spread throughout the month?
If there is a high-traffic day, it may be worth checking the Apache log file under
/var/log/virtualmin
manually to see if there are any large downloads from the site on that day.Submitted by RyanJohnson on Mon, 10/22/2012 - 16:37 Comment #4
Hey Jamie,
It's spread out .. seems that there's a two day spike every few days ... see attachment.
It's only a small site so this is very curious

I think I would need to see the Apache log for the domain to see what is going on here..
