Hi,
We have an updated Virtualmin Pro installation on Centos 5.8 that has been in production for a good while.
I'm trying to install Redmine using the install scripts.
I know nothing of Ruby or Rails, sorry.
How do I install Redmine?
When I try, I get:
================
Found http://rubyforge.org:80/frs/download.php/74722/redmine-1.1.3.tar.gz in cache ..
Installing Ruby Gem test-spec .. .. Gem install failed : ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::RemoteSourceException) HTTP Response 302
================
The first try reported no 'gcc' or 'make' installed, so I installed those two packages with YUM, then tried again.
See attachents.
Thanks,
G

Unfortunately redmine is written in ruby, which has very fast-changing dependencies. The
gem
command in particular that is supplied with CentOS 5 may not even work anymore, due to changes in the Ruby gems repository server.Your only option is to remove the CentOS-supplied ruby and gem packages, and install the latest versions from source. Or look into using a script other than redmine - those written in PHP have much less frequently changing dependencies.

Hi Jamie,
Unfortunately, that jives with what I was already thinking.
Thanks,

Yeah, there isn't much Virtualmin can do here, sorry ...
