figured out the issue. the cloudmin installer needs to install acpid on ubuntu as ubuntu does not include this by default. Soled my nic power management issues that i've been fighting ever since i started using ubuntu and cloudmin.

That seems like an ubuntu issue, not cloudmin .. unless cloudmin is doing something different with the NIC that makes apcid required?

Are you saying you're still having problems even after acpid is installed?
Is there an Ubuntu bug report on the issue?
