Currently vm 3.88 shows only
Scientific Linux 6
but it should show something like
Scientific Linux 6.1
content of /etc/*release is
Scientific Linux release 6.1 (Carbon)

That's odd, Virtualmin should detect the new OS version.. although it doesn't really treat 6.0 any different from 6.1.
Do you see a button on the System Information page prompting you to update the detected OS?

I think there was a button, which I clicked (after upgrading to 6.1), but the version information didn't change.

But I don't think it is upgrade related. I did a fresh install with webmin only and can see the same version issue.

Ok, I see the issue now .. there is a bug in Webmin's Scientific Linux version detection.
I'll fix this in the next release. Fortunately is it basically cosmetic, and doesn't effect functionality.

I tested this with webmin 1.5.80, but the incorrect version is still shown (and the changelog didn't mention anything about a version fix either :-)

There is some caching that happens which may delay that message by up to a day ..
