If a domain is renamed, then the log files should be also renamed. Currently virtualmin leaves the old log files unchanged and create a new set of log files.

Which log files are you referring to exactly?

the log files in /var/log/virtualmin.
for example the ones that end in access_log

That's odd, as I just did some tests and those log files do get renamed already..

yes, indeed. i tried again in my test system and wasn't able to reproduce this anymore.
