hi, i am trying to pay my renewal and your website shopping cart is broken. After I fill in all my details and put the Credit Card in, i press submit and it bombs out:
We were unable to process your credit card payment. Please verify your card details and try again. If the problem persists, contact us to complete your order.
there is NOTHING wrong with my credit card and all details were correct - please fix your system so I can pay my account. thanks !

Apologies for the inconvenience.
As far as I can tell, the credit card processing is working correctly. We've received and successfully processed orders today via the shopping cart. There may be a temporary issue with PayPal's credit card gateway, though I don't see any service alerts about it. I also don't see any errors in our logs or the PayPal transaction history (though, I didn't expect to; PayPal is not very good about telling us what went wrong with failed orders).
But, if the problem persists, we can figure out some other way to get your order processed. You can fax your card details over to (815)642-4583, and I can try to process the order manually. Or, you could try using PayPal as the payment type rather than credit card.

Our credit card payments also go through PayPal, via their Web Payments Pro gateway...I don't like PayPal, but I liked Authorize.net and our merchant account bank much less. But, it is a wholly separate process; if you pay with credit card, the gateway is used, and if you use the Pay with PayPal option, you'll go through their site (which I think also allows you to pay with a credit card when determining how to fund the payment). So, for some folks in some circumstances one option will work and the other does not. We have very little control over the initial validation of card information.

It may have been an issue with Paypal.
