Is this in an alias domain, or a regular virtual server?
Also, is the alias one that forwards to the same address in some other domain, or one that forwards to all mailboxes in the current domain?

So when restoring, did the virtual server already exist on the system, or was it re-created as part of the restore process?

The new system was a freshinstall. I just did backup and then restored all virtual servers.

Do you have creation of one of these aliases enabled for all new domains at System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default Settings -> Mail for domain -> Mail aliases for new domain?

Mail alias mode for alias domain
is set toCatchall forwarding
in the "old" server (then I removed the "All Mailboxes" from the list of aliases in one virtual server.)In the "new" server it is set to
Copy aliases from target

Those settings shouldn't matter, as they apply to alias domains only.
What about the setting I mentioned in comment #6 ?
