BATV (Bounce Address Tag Validation) Check

Hi guys,

Is BATV (Bounce Address Tag Validation) Check supported yet in Debian/Ubuntu setups?

When I tested my email setup sending an email to : the report showed that BATV was yellow and not in place. I had never heard about this before and was curious if it is in the works or is something you don't recommend.

There's no specific Virtualmin support for BATV, though I imagine it could work if you were to setup it up manually. I see batv related packages in both Ubuntu and Debian.

I unfortunately don't have any experience in setting up or using BATV though.

Note that there are some potential problems with BATV and greylisting. I again don't know the specifics here, but if you run into problems, you might end up needing to disable greylisting on your server. There's some information about that in the "Problems" section in this wikipedia entry:

Thank you Eric.

I will check into it and see if the pros outweigh the cons. It sure looks like the new sender envelopes would cause alot of re-greylisting so for sure an issue.

Anyone else coming accross this can learn more here:
