setquota: Cannot open quotafile

Just received this error message today when trying to increase the quota on an email account:

Failed to save mailbox : setquota: Cannot open quotafile //aquota.user: Permission denied setquota: Not all specified mountpoints are using quota.

Howdy -- what is the output of these two commands:

mount
cat /etc/fstab

Also, are you using a VPS or a dedicated server?

Also, what is the output from :

ls -l /*quota*

I'm very surprised to see a permission denied error opening the quota files, unless you are on a VPS ..
