"tried" the script installer on a server and it installed just fine (squirrelmail). However, when I tried to "uninstall" the script using the tool (button) on the script page-install tab it gives a "file not found" or 404 error.

Sounds like a bug - what is the URL of the page or frame that you are getting the 404 error for?

Well on my server its:
https://www.servername.com:10000/virtual-server/list_scripts.cgi?dom=127...
which is the "installed scripts" link then I tick the box on the script to un-install and click the Uninstall Selected Scripts button.
Get a 404 error also..

Ok, I see the cause now - this will be fixed in Virtualmin 3.85
