AWstats reporting failed!

Hi,

I've tried to disable a re-enable awstats for a virtual server in order to fix a server validation error but I'm getting the following error. I've look at miniserv.error and there's no clues

Setting up AWstats reporting .. .. AWstats reporting failed!

It appears to be trying to put awstats.pl into the public_html/cgi-bin directory which doesn't exist. Usually awstats.pl goes into /home/domain/cgi-bin. Do you know why it would be different for this server?

How did you determine it was trying to write to that directory?

That would certainly be a bug, as awstats.pl should go into cgi-bin

I go it from the output when ran the server validator from within webmin. Here's the output:

AWstats reporting : AWstats program /home/defence/public_html/cgi-bin/awstats.pl does not exist

In your system's /etc/webmin/virtualmin-awstats/config file , is the copyto option set, and if so to what?

If it is set, you should probably remove that line as it is a rarely needed option.

It's not set .. it is currently:

plugins=
noedit=1
lang=
icons=/usr/share/awstats/wwwroot/icon
format=
awstats=/usr/share/awstats/wwwroot/cgi-bin/awstats.pl
nocron=1
copyto=
aliases=
lib=
config_dir=/etc/awstats

Ok .. if you login to Virtualmin, select that domain from the left menu, then go to Services -> Configure Website -> CGI programs, what is in the "CGI directory aliases" field?

Ok you found it!

Yes it was set incorrectly. I've updated the location. disabled and re-enable awstats and it seems to be working fine now.

Thanks for your help!
