wbm-virtual-server-3.84.gpl-1.noarch - I haven't updated licensed systems yet.
I see the new interface and certainly agree it is much simpler; and I see it has moved from Services to Server Configuration, fine. However, please put back the ability to edit the whole zone file, making edits one line at a time through the new interface is cumbersome.
I know we can jump over to Webmin -> Servers - DNS but if we are already making edits on a domain it is counter productive to have to go though the Webmin links then go back to the domain in Virtualmin.
To confirm, the DNS edit options are no longer in Services, correct? If they are supposed to be there then this is a bug.

Also, is the zone reloaded automatically after editing? I don't see a way to "apply" or "restart" DNS to effect the changes. -- Craig

Yes, the zone is applied automatically after each change.
I removed the ability to manually edit a zone because there is too much chance of inexperienced users destroying their configuration. Also, when our new Cloudmin Services product is in use, there is no local zone file anymore..
How about if instead you could edit multiple records at once on a single page, using text fields?

We use Cloudmin - when is this update happening? Also, thank you for moving DNS to Cloudmin too - DNS control really needs to be in both places.

I'd still like to see the ability to edit the zone file directly, similar to Apache. Having multiple lines to edit is better but we have some zones that are quite large.
On a side note I have a question about the menu organization. It seems to me it would be much clearer, especially for inexperienced users, to re-align the left-hand menu close to the service or task. For example, "Web Server" would contain all Apache and website related configuration options - right now they are spread over multiple places, same for email and other services. i don't have a lot of experience with other control panels but the one I've seen tend to organize in this manner, which makes sense from a UI perspective (i.e. not a system administrator but a user).

Ok, I will look into adding the ability to do an old-style manual editing of zone files.
I like your idea about the left menu .. I agree the currently layout is getting rather confusing.

I don't mind the current "DNS records" interface for the end-client, but I'd like to at least see that it was possible, maybe in the Template or plan, to allow them to edit/create more than just a select few resource records. For instance, I have a number of reverse-delegated zones that the clients can no longer add/edit PTR records if they need to - it must be done manually by us.
Also, it doesn't make sense what is allowed for edit and what isn't, for example:
1) thisdomain.org SPF - Sender Permitted From v=spf1 a mx ip4:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx include:zignut.net ~all 2) thisdomain.org TXT - Text google-site-verification=longverificationkeyhere 3) _domainkey TXT - Text t=y\; o=~\; 4) _policy._domainkey TXT - Text t=y\; o=~\; 5) _ssp._domainkey TXT - Text dkim=unknown 6) mdaemon._domainkey TXT - Text v=DKIM1\; p=longverificationkeyhere
Of the above, lines 1,3,4 are not editable through the "DNS records" interface(under a superadmin as well), but lines 2,5,6 are.

furrymitn - you can still access the old interface at Webmin -> Servers -> BIND DNS Server (on the left menu).
SPF records cannot be edited, as there is a separate "DNS Options" page for that.
DKIM records are managed automatically by Virtualmin, at Email Messages -> DomainKeys Identified Mail.
