Hi,
I setup an alert for a downed / crashed VPS, and have to use the "System Up" option. This is a bit confusing, since I get an email with the subject "System Up"
This is a bit misleading since it is in fact down
Why not rather have a system alert state for downed systems, and one for when the system comes back up again?

Yes, that is a little confusing .. the alerts were mainly designed for threshold-based monitoring, such as when RAM or CPU goes over some limit. The up/down alert was sort-of shoehorned into there.
I will see how it can be improved..

aah, ok. That explains it :)
I think it could be a nice feature to have a decent uptime monitor, and a way to gather the stats & display them on an external website? Even if it's just a simple API call, or even MySQL data that can be displayed anywhere. With the master server(s) on different hardware, and in many people's cases, different datacenters, it could be very effective.

That's also a good idea .. I'll add an API command to get historic stats for some system.

Cloudmin 4.8 will make it easier to create alerts on a system being down, and will display them nicer.
