I'm getting cron-job result errors like this one:
Failed to run /usr/share/webmin/virtual-server/fcgiclear.pl : No such file or directory at /etc/webmin/virtual-server/fcgiclear.pl line 10.
on a secondary nameserver runing virtualminGPL (that server has no domains active, and as it will never have, has "Apache website" Feature and plugins not active).
(In case if you ask why we installed virtualminGPL instead of webmin, it's just to lower the number of different packages been run on our servers).

That cron job shouldn't even exist under Virtualmin GPL .. it is for a pro-only feature, the killing of ophan php-cgi scripts. Did you install pro first, then downgrade to GPL?

Yes, correct, as we purchased and installed fine quite a few pro licenses and really didn't need the features of the Pro version for just clustering a secondary dns server to all our vminPro servers, and didn't find an easy install.sh script to install the GPL one, installed pro first, then downgraded to GPL, following instructions on your uninstall / downgrade page, which doesn't include removing this cron job (only the license one).
So i guess it's just a documentation "bug" on this site. Changed "project" in this bug report accordingly.

Maybe I missed another page about simple auto-install of GPL version, like the Pro does, but as had little time, thought the downgrade should do it (and it looks like it did it, except for that cron).

Thanks .. I've updated those docs.
There is also an install script for Virtualmin GPL. Same as the Professional one, actually, that detects whether it is installing Professional of GPL based on license information. It can be downloaded from the Download page at the bottom of the page.

One idea / hint for your download page to make that "pattern" better recognizable by your Pro-customers:
Maybe you could present in addition of the link to the install.sh download (where "install.sh" is hidden), the nice combination that you present in the purchased licenses download:
e.g.: just type this command after a fresh OS install:
Linux and FreeBSD:
wget http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh ; install.sh
Solaris and OpenSolaris:
http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/solaris-install.sh ; install.sh
