Virtualmin creates a few mail aliases when creating a new domain ( abuse, webmaster, hostmaster ). those aliases point to mainuser@domain.com, but this address is not enabled by default so the aliases are useless because they will just bounce the messages coming to them. Either don't create those aliases or just forward them to a real email address like postmaster@domain.com
I'm using qmail+vpopmail, I don't know if this issue is the same with other email systems.

This is specific to vpopmail - for other mail systems, the domain owner gets an address like domain@domain.com by default. You can adjust the default aliases at System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default Settings -> Mail for domain.
