Additional sub-domains for site-previews

Maybe it's possible, but didn't find how.

The integrated site-preview is very protected, and doesn't always work with CMS logins.

It would be nice to be able to assign a main domain for site previews and when a site is created, to also create a dns and apache entry for a subdomain of that previews-domain.

E.g. ourhosting-previews.net would be domain dedicated to previews.

Then if somebody creates mynewsite.com it would also create mynewsite-com.ourhosting-previews.net

Nothing urgent, just something nice to have. I think another panel allows that too.

Howdy -- you can actually do that.

In System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default -> Virtual server creation -> Automatically create alias domain -- from there, you only need to select what domain name the aliases should show up under.

Yes, Eric's solution is the recommended one in this case - you can give each new virtual server an alias sub-domain of your own company's domain, which can be used to preview it before the DNS registration is done.
