I migrated from mandriva to debian and I have a issue that I can't seem to resolve.
The rpm package for cloudmin is wbm-server-manager
however...
the wbm package is called server-manager-VERSION.real
This is a huge issue because I need to have all my servers and if I try to use the wbm package I get perl errors if I rename the /etc/webmin/server-manager to /etc/webmin/server-manager-real
Something needs to be done to fix this.

That's odd .. the package should always be server-manager, and the version perhaps includes .real if it is the version for non-virtual systems.
Where are you downloading this wbm package from?

from http://vm2.virtualmin.com/real/wbm/
I got that url out of the vm2 install script. This is why you need to build deb packages, it looks like you started to that at one time and stopped.

actually your repo is a mess
see...
http://vm2.virtualmin.com/universal/ - rpm repo without real appended
http://vm2.virtualmin.com/real/universal/ - rpm repo with real appended
And then you got....
http://vm2.virtualmin.com/wbm/ - wbm without real
http://vm2.virtualmin.com/real/wbm/ wbm with real appended
And then you got a debian repo you dont even use anymore - http://vm2.virtualmin.com/debian/dists/
Why the hell you doing this ?

Ok, I see the issue .. the module name wasn't supposed to have -real in it, but due to a package creation bug it did. This isn't really a Debian vs wbm issue .. the same mistake would have happened even if I'd made .deb files too.
The separate repos are intentional, for different versions of Cloudmin (full versus real systems only).
Coming back to the original issue, can you wipe the system and re-install? That would fix it. However, if you need to convert the existing incorrect server-manager-real module to just server-manager, let me know.

My issue was that I didn't know what version to use. The real is what I saw in that VM2 install script you gave me so I thought you made a change for debian systems.
So let me get this straight.....
http://vm2.virtualmin.com/universal/ was the rpm I used to use when I used mandriva so that means for debian I need to use http://vm2.virtualmin.com/wbm/
correct ?

Yes, you should use the one from /wbm
Does that resolve the issue with upgrading?

Ok that's what I needed to know.
Now how to get automatic updates going for cloudmin now since I have to use wbm files ?
Also when are you going to get a deb repo working ? This really isn't hard to do and can be created in a matter of a hour if you really wanted to do this.

BTW why can't we set the priority anymore ? Sometimes I have a emergency issue.

To get automatic updates, go to Webmin -> Webmin Configuration -> Upgrade Webmin -> Scheduled update, and in the text box enter the URLs :
http://www.webmin.com/update/updates.txt
http://cloudmin.virtualmin.com/wbm/updates.txt
Also, select 'Update from other sources' and 'Update non-core modules as well'. In the login and password fields, enter your Cloudmin serial number and key.

Are you sure I need the webmin updates as well ? That might interfere with the deb repo.

This assumes you are using wbm packages only - if you were to switch to a debian repo for Cloudmin, these wouldn't be needed..

OK but I am using the deb repo for the VM stuff so I shouldn't need the http://www.webmin.com/update/updates.txt
Only the cloudmin link right?
When will the cloudmin repo be working ?

So do you have cloudmin and virtualmin installed on the same system? if so, you dont need to setup updates.txt - instead just wait till next week when we have a debian repo.

Correct so I'll wait then.
