I wonder why it's not possible to create a separate MySQL user with its own MySQL password for sub servers. This is offered by all other control panels so I wonder why VM Pro does not offer it?

Very true, but security is important, too.
It just doesn't feel good to use the same username and password for different stores under different sub-servers.
you can create a sub-server as top-level server and it will have its own password and username.

You can do this by selecting the sub-server from the left menu, then going to Edit Mail and FTP Users and creating a new user. On the user creation form there is a field for selecting which MySQL databases he will have access to - just select the DB for the sub-server.
Once created, this user will have full access to all tables in that database.
