Well, it seems that receipt of email seems to be working well, but an attempt to send an email from within Usermin resulted in the following error:
Failed to open /var/usermin/upload.124460399966992 for writing : Bad file descriptor
However, using squirrelmail to sent the message seems fine.
Appears to me to be a Usermin related issue.
