Short Version
Looking for guidance on how to replace a Virtual Server (parent) with a sub-server.
Longer Explanation
I have a Virtual Server example.com I created a sub-server dev.example.com to work on a site rebuild The rebuild is now complete and I want to make dev.example.com -> example.com and replace everything on the parent.
Probably should have not done it that way but now looking for best method - "Change Domain Name, Transfer Virtual Server" or some other option?
Many Thanks for any guidance.

Hi,
Thanks for contacting us.
You could either copy content of public_html from dev.example.com to example.com, however it will not copy your databases and other features.
The other option, is to convert to a parent dev.example.com using Server Configuration > Move Virtual Server page, then rename example.com to something else (just in case), and then rename dev.example.com to example.com using Server Configuration > Change Domain Name page.
Warning: Make sure to perform virtual servers backup using Backup and Restore > Backup Virtual Servers page first.

Thank you kindly for the guidance. I did try the Move to Parent Server option but of course was unable to as the parent is already named as what I want the child to become and I could not find where to rename the parent. Seemed safer just to move the files and export/import the db.
Thanks again
