Not able to upgrade with the new license

Hi,

I have purchased the Professional license, but not able to upgrade the existing server with GPL. I am getting the error:

Error: Failed to upgrade to Virtualmin Pro : No Virtualmin GPL repository was found in /etc/yum.repos.d/virtualmin.repo

virtualmin.repo is available in the said location.

Please look into this.

Thanks

Howdy -- thanks for contacting us!

How did you install Virtualmin GPL initially, was it using the install.sh script?

Also, can you paste in the contents of your /etc/yum.repos.d/virtualmin.repo file? Thanks!

Hi,

I have installed the GPL license using the installer downloaded from http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh and then performed the install using the install.sh

Below are the contents of virtualmin.repo:

[virtualmin] name=RHEL/CentOS $releasever - $basearch - Virtualmin baseurl=http://5578968:CT5JZVyAfK@software.virtualmin.com/centos/$releasever/$basearch/ enabled=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-virtualmin-6 gpgcheck=1

[virtualmin-universal] name=Virtualmin Distribution Neutral Packages baseurl=http://5578968:CT5JZVyAfK@software.virtualmin.com/universal/ enabled=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-virtualmin-6 gpgcheck=1

Hi Let me know if i need to open this issue to any other category, if this is the wrong one then, but please let me know how to resolve this?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

You would need to update baseurl on virtualmin.repo file from:

baseurl=http://5578968:CT5JZVyAfK@software.virtualmin.com/centos/$releasever/$basearch/

..to

baseurl=http://5578968:CT5JZVyAfK@software.virtualmin.com/vm/6/centos/$releasever/$basearch/

Hi Thanks for the reply, however because of the delay I have installed a new pro version of Virtualmin and moved my site from the GPL version to pro version.

Thanks

Closing this now.

Did that issue initially happen to you when installing GPL version of Virtualmin on clean CentOS 7, with mentioned earlier install script?

No, the GPL version was installed seamlessly. It only happened when I tried using the PRO license from the Virtualmin UI.

Okay, thanks!

I see what the problem was. It will be fixed on the next Virtualmin release.
