The clipboard in File Manager "paste" dont get cleared!

Hi,

I noticed that the clipboard don't get cleared when logging of from Virtualmin/Webmin. I can still paste a file that a did copy and paste 34 days ago!? I really would like to get the clipboard cleared when logging out, like it does on every other software or page. I don't know if this is stored locally or externally on the server but this should be cleared where ever it is stored. If the file is "remembered" by a cookie then the cookie should be destroyed when logging out,

Where is the info store, and how can I clear the "clipboard" for Virtualmin/Webmin?

Best regards, Leffe

Hi, Leffe.

By default it's kept in ~/.filemin directory. It's debatable if it should be cleared on logging out.

If you don't want to use it, just don't hit Ctrl+C? For cutting it's already automatically "cleared". For copying, as user could possibly want to copy file multiple times, it's stored.

What is the real deal/problem here?

I meant to say, don't click Ctrl+V.

Hi Ilia,

I was really surprised when I noticed that I actually did paste a file that I did copy/paste 34 days ago. I think this happened because I for some reason had disabled the "clear all data and stuff" on closing the browser. It is now activated again and after I cleared all cached data in Firefox the clipboard is now empty, even if the info is stored in .buffer. So, My problem was that I was able to do the paste of that old file, but... the fault to why I could do that was not on your end, It was me that had forgot that I had disabled the "Clear Firefox history and cache on exit"! Its now activated and all is working as usual.

And thanks, its good to know that the copy info is stored in .buffer.

Sorry for thinking that something had changed in File manager! And since everything is working as designed I think I can close this.

Best regards, Leffe
