"Backup Now" for "Virtualmin/Backup and Restore/Scheduled Backups" - the ability to select and "run now" for existing, already-defined backups

Feature Request:Requesting ability, from both the CLI and the Web interface, to select and "run now" of existing "Scheduled Backups"

There is no obvious way to select an existing "Virtualmin - Backup and Restore - Scheduled Backups" backup, and to then run it immediately.

It would be useful to be able to select one of the existing, defined backups, and to then immediately schedule it to be run.

It might also be useful to be able to be able to "name" each of the existing backups, to facilitate sorting, selecting, and running them from the CLI and the GUI.

This, for example, when "last night's backup" failed (because the destination media was unavailable), and now that the media problem has been fixed - "run the missed backup now"...

Finally, the ability to perform "parameterized backups" would be especially useful. i.e., on the command line or from the GUI, to be able to pick a 'named backup' and to then specify a list of the virtualmin servers against which the 'backup' would be run. Such a capability would enable the backups to different storage media, and also allow for ad hoc backups to happen on an as-needed basis. e.g., hourly backups of certain servers could be incremental, and then weekly the customer is paying for a "full backup"...

Howdy -- if I understand correctly, the first part of your requesr can currently be done by going into the Backup and Restore -> Scheduled Backups screen, and then when reviewing the existing list of scheduled backups, click the "Backup" button on the left.

Once you are in the backup in question, you can make any tweaks you need to the features, and then click either the "Backup Now" or "Backup in Background" option.

Would that do what you're after?

Yes!, except for the ability to "parameterize" a backup script with the name of the virtual server being backed up - right now we're putting the name(s) individually in the "Command to run after backup"; e.g., /usr/bin/postback domain1.tld domain2.tld etc

It would be much nicer if the list of selected servers from the top of the pages was available as an environment variable to our "command", or something like it...

Thank you,

That's a good idea - in the next Virtualmin release, you'll be able to access the list of domains being backed up in the $BACKUP_DOMAIN_NAMES environment variable.

Wonderful news!
