I broke my Cloudmin! Downgraded to GPL and then upgraded back to licensed version - now KVM virtual servers won't start!

I know, I am an idiot, but I wanted to see what the limitations were on the GPL version so I (stupidly) downgraded my install to the free version and then attempted to upgrade back to the paid version. I searched for the virtual KVM servers and they show up in my list of managed systems but they won't start! Boot message is: failed to initialize  No such file or directory. How can I get them back to a working condition again?

Another message which I omitted to include: Could not access KVM kernel module: No such file or directory

How did you do the downgrade exactly?
