if I install Wordpress 4.8 from the install script and then turn right around and try to uninstall it, I get the following....

What type of database did you select when you installed Wordpress (MySQL or PostgreSQL) ?

Can you try going to System Settings -> Script Installers -> Installer Updates, and clicking the Save button.
The re-try uninstalling Wordpress.

As I was recreating the virtual server on this one, I got this toward the end of creation...
Re-loading Webmin .. .. done
Saving server details .. .. done
HTTP/1.0 500 Perl execution failed Server: MiniServ/1.795 Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2017 04:03:47 GMT Content-type: text/html; Charset=iso-8859-1 Connection: close
Error - Perl execution failed Undefined subroutine &virtual_server::unlock_domain_name called at /usr/share/webmin/virtual-server/domain_setup.cgi line 492.
I then found that the server was not in the pulldown list but when I did a list virtual servers, it was there. I deleted it without error but upon trying to recreate it again, get same error.
I just tried using a different domain for creation other than madcofarmandhome.com which i was previously working on with Andy, used test.com but it is doing the same thing. Now I'm stuck.

Sorry.. I did do what you asked before I went to try and recreate the server, install the script and then uninstall it. Never got to install the script part on that round. I just tried on another pre-existing virtual server on my system to install and uninstall the script in question and received this:
Now un-installing WordPress version 4.8 .. HTTP/1.0 500 Perl execution failed Server: MiniServ/1.795 Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2017 04:14:01 GMT Content-type: text/html; Charset=iso-8859-1 Connection: close Error - Perl execution failed Undefined subroutine &virtual_server::check__database_clash called at /usr/share/webmin/virtual-server/scripts-lib.pl line 608.

That's really odd - it looks like some files are missing on your system. Which Linux distribution are you running there?

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS I believe. Yeah it's pretty old and I"m in the process of upgrading to 16. Too far to just do the upgrade internally. I tried and it failed.

I'd recommend upgrading at least Perl, as the current version is likely too old to be compatible with Virtualmin.

Ok. THis will all likely be moot anyhow soon as I am in the process of upgrading both of my servers to Ubuntu 16 LTS. I think Andy wanted me to post it as a heads up more or less to something that had developed with an older OS.
