Inatallation of virtualmin failed

Hi, I want to install vitrualmin on an debian but it failed because php5 can't be installed from apt. Could it be that the install.sh must be updatet?

Howdy -- thanks for contacting us!

Could you attach your /root/virtualmin-install.log file? That should contain some additional information about what didn't work.

Thanks!

Debian 9 is not yet supported in the stable installer. It is supported in the Virtualmin 6 beta installer (though there may still be bugs...most of the recent reports have been generally successful, with some minor quirks).

The link and discussion about that can be found here: https://www.virtualmin.com/node/52613

I expect Virtualmin 6 to be marked stable in the next couple of days after a bit more testing and a new Virtualmin package release.

thanks for this info! I thought about something like this as I see it's the wrong version.

No problem. And, don't be afraid to try the beta installer; it'll probably work fine (or very close to it), if it has problems we can probably sort them out. We're happy to have more people trying Virtualmin on Debian 9.

I'm gonna mark this fixed, as the specific issue is resolved. But, if you try the beta installer and it has problems, feel free to open a new ticket with those issues.
