hi guys,
today ive done apt update && upgrade -y and around 670 packages was updated, also debian 9 was automatically installed. before I run command on terminal I did log into webmin and see webmin packages update with number 670, so I thought okay I will do this via terminal. Now sites running but no access to db also no access to virtualmin/webmin.. is there any tmp fix for this or shall I have to reinstall my server?
thank you for your help.

update: Ive managed to fixed things.. mariadb now works and also webmin/virutalmin works :)
sorry for ticket.
issue resolved on my own. thanks guys.
Thanks for the update! And, I'm glad things are working...but, Virtualmin wouldn't have done an "apt-get dist-upgrade"...it'll only do an "apt-get upgrade". There must have been something else aside from Virtualmin deciding to mark things for a dist-upgrade.
But, yeah, we're mostly wrapping up Debian 9 support right now, so it's not a disaster. But, you might want to figure out what actually triggered the dist-upgrade, as that's a scary thing to happen when you think it's just a normal update.
@joe
Yap, on my home server (git) i have virtualmin installed as well just for development dummy domains, and done same thing as usually I do:
apt update && apt upgrade -y
and it was all updated but distro is still jessie. Before update performed via terminal ive log in to git server virtualmin and checked for updates, there was some 4 or 5 packages to be updated however on my main server it showed more then 600 packages. Perhaps I should look at sys log or something. End of the day nothing break up, I only had to install mariadb-server and mairadb-client, restore my.cnf and edit fail2ban file (to remove one duplicate jail from it) and it working.view image in full size: https://i.imgur.com/8F2MUMl.png
