I received a notice that my license has expired and in years past, I just go to the site and renew. I didn't have that option this time, so I purchased a new license. It says it is not linked to a server. Can't I just renew my existing one?

Howdy -- thanks for contacting us!

Our licenses changed a bit this year.

Instead of our previous system, where we had an initial license purchase, followed by renewals -- the license price is now consistent. You can purchase a license for a month at a time, or a year -- and the price never changes.

Also, at the end of the license period, it will automatically renew, you won't have to log in to handle that any longer.

The downside here is that, as you saw, you'll need to purchase a license, and apply that to your server.

To apply it to your server, you can run this command:

virtualmin change-license --serial SERIAL --key KEY
