Hi there,
I notice that the latest version of osTicket available inside Virtualmin is 1.9.2, but the latest version available from the source is 1.9.14.
What is the process for ensuring installer scripts are up-to-date?

Howdy -- thanks for letting us know!
We have automated tools that let us know when new versions come out, but sometimes they change things on their end such that our tools don't notice the new versions.
If that ever happens, just open up a request like you did here and we'll get that taken care of.

Hi Eric,
OK, thanks. How long until we see the latest version inside Virtualmin?

It actually looks like the latest osTicket is 1.10 ... would that be even better?

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your reply. According to http://osticket.com/download , 1.10 is still in beta. Speaking only for myself, I'd prefer to stick with installing released versions through Virtualmin.

Ok, we'll update the osTicket installer in a day or two.

So it turns out that the latest version of osTicket has a ZIP file with unreadable file permissions. We can work around this in future versions of Virtualmin, but not in the current release :-(

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the update. I note that I now have 1.9.14 available inside Virtualmin 5.04. Will upgrading inside Virtualmin cause a problem with the zip file you describe above? Or am I confused about what future release you're referring to?
Craig
Jamie, could we make our own tarball of it and stick it in our cache of scripts? (I think we have a repo that has scripts in it?)

Good idea, I'll do that

The upgrade showed up in Virtualmin and I upgraded yesterday (the 17th here) and the upgrade seemed to go well. Thanks very much.
