Howdy -- hmm, it sounds like you're seeing a WordPress issue there. It's tough to say what the issue might be, though you may want to double-check the Apache error logs for your domain to see if any errors are being logged.
You may also want to check the permissions of the uploads folder, to make sure the user your site is running as has permissions to write there.
