Hi there,
When editing a server template it is possible to select "None" when answering the question, "Available to resellers" to determine who has access to the server template, but there is no similar option to select "None" for "Available to server owners". One is forced to make a server template available to all or at least one owner, or an error message is generated:
Failed to save server template : No domain owners selected
And actually, I tried to make a server template (the default "Settings For Sub-Servers") available to only one owner (to effectively disable it for all other owners), but the setting is not saved and no error is generated; when the page refreshes "All owners" is still selected. I did manage to do the same thing (allow use by only one server owner) for the "Default Settings" server template, but trying to do the same with the "Settings For Sub-Servers" server template is not successful.

I should add that I cannot select "None" for resellers either on the "Settings For Sub-Servers" server template. I can select it, but it doesn't save.
I have tried this under both the Authentic theme and Virtualmin Framed Theme.
I can't delete the "Settings For Sub-Servers" server template either, although my preference is to keep it as a reference point anyway and just disable it.

Maybe I'm approaching this the wrong way. Is it even necessary to have different server templates for top level virtual servers and sub-servers? Can I use the same server template for both top level virtual servers and sub-servers? Any reason I shouldn't?

Yes, you can have a template that is usable for top-level and sub-servers - there's no harm in doing this.

Hi Jamie,
OK, thanks, I'll probably do that then.
That said, there is still a bug there in that I can't save the "Basic settings and usage" section of the included "Settings For Sub-Servers" server template.

Yes, that's a bug - this will be fixed in the next release of Virtualmin.

Hi Jamie,
Which next release is that? :) The bug is still there in 5.01.
