Cannot deselect/select installation scripts

Hi there,

When using the Chromium web browser and trying to deselect (or select) scripts at "Virtualmin | System Settings | Script Installers" so that they are not (or are) available to virtual server owners, clicking either the check box or the name of the script only opens a new tab to the website of the developer. It does not deselect (or select) the check box. The exception is any listed script that doesn't include an external link, which behaves as expected.

In Firefox it behaves as expected; clicking the check box deselects or selects it, and clicking the script name opens the developer's website in a new tab.

I have not tried this in any themes other than Authentic or any browsers besides the two stated.

Hi, Craig.

I will take another look at this matter. Does clicking right mouse buttons marks the row?

Hi Ilia,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, a right click selects/deselects the check box in both Chromium in Firefox, although in Firefox I also get the expected context menu. In Chromium I get no context menu.

That is not supposed to be happening (context menu)

What browser versions/OS are you using?

  • OS: Xubuntu 14.04 LTS
  • Chromium: 48.0.2564.116
  • Firefox: 45.0

Also, what is the desktop OS?

My desktop OS is Xubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Hi Ilia,

I should add that it might be relevant -- with respect t the context menu in Firefox -- that I have set to "false" dom.event.contextmenu.enabled in "about:config". Setting it to false prevents scripts from disabling the context menu. This is a custom configuration. See "Advanced JavaScript Settings" for details.

However, this is not technically related to the problem in Chromium.

Once you change default event behaviour, than it's not a bug.

About Chromium: you can't left click on the checkbox? If you click directly on checkbox, don't you have it toggled?

Yes, I understand that, which is why I said it's only a bug in Chromium.

Left-clicking on the check box in Chromium opens a new tab, and has no effect on the state of the check box.

I could reproduce it. I will take a look and fix it upon next release.

OK, sounds good.

Finally. I got it and now fully understand other people's complains in this regard. I could never understand why it was happening and most importantly when.

It should fix all kind of close-related issues!

Thanks for reporting!!

It will be fixed in 17.80. ;)
