The reason for this is that the email that is sent includes the actual domain name as the webmin address. If no certificate is present the user is presented with a certificate error. As I want to ensure that the connection is via SSL, I'd like to update the server address to the master server to access webmin.

Howdy -- you can actually specify what that should be by going into System Settings -> Virtualmin Config -> Server Settings, and there, set "Virtualmin URL for use in email messages" to your preferred URL.
Would that do what you're after?
Yes I have set that to the domain name of the master webmin server, however the forgot password notification sends out a password reset link that contains the domain name of the actual Virtual Server:
https://myclientdomain.com:10000/virtualmin-password-recovery/email.cgi?...
This needs to be the url of the master webmin server in my use case

Hmm, that could be a bug.
Jamie, is it possible that the password recovery module isn't using the Virtualmin setting for "Virtualmin URL for use in email messages"?

No, it always uses the URL of the domain - but I will fix this in the next release.

Was this ever implemented?

It should have - which version of the password recovery plugin do you have installed?
Package description Webmin module for 'Virtualmin Password Recovery'
Current state Running latest 1.6-1
Installed version 2:1.6-1
Available version 2:1.6-1
Installation source Installed
I can see that version 1.7 of the virtualmin password recovery module was released, however I have just tested the password recovery and the email I receive is missing any the domain name part of the URL:
