Perl execution failed error when logging into Usermin: "Undefined subroutine &main::parse_virtual_server_access_level called at /usr/share/usermin/authentic-theme/index.cgi line 170."
We've switched back to Virtualmin Framed for Usermin, but this is happening on all our Virtualmin servers. Authentic theme: 17.02 Virtualmin: 4.18 Pro Usermin: 1.670
Status:

Hi!
Unfortunately this is theme unrelated issue has been happening dozens of times.
I expect, that you have latest Webmin version (1.770) running. The reason why it's happening is because of Webmin's stuck cache.
Sometimes restarting Webmin/Usermin helps to solve this issue:
service webmin restart
service usermin restart
However, from the past practice, only restarting the server was fixing the issue fully.
Please let me know if it was helpful.
Regards, Ilia

Tonight is our maintenance window. I'll try restarting the server and let you know the result.

Rebooting did fix the Usermin issue. Any idea why that is? I would hate to have to reboot a server any time this error comes up. Really kills my proud uptime.

This could happen if Usermin was upgraded but didn't get restarted as part of the upgrade, leaving old libraries still in use. So a single restart should be enough to fix it permanently.
