I successfully use multiple PHP 5 versions side by side using the Multiple PHP Versions feature. The PHP binaries are installed as following:
/usr/local/bin/php53-cgi
/usr/local/bin/php54-cgi
/usr/local/bin/php56-cgi
/usr/local/bin/php70-cgi
The /usr/local/bin/php5?-cgi binaries are detected by Virtualmin whereas /usr/local/bin/php70-cgi is not. I hope that's easy to fix.
