outlook client autoconfiguration - ServerAlias autodiscover.{domain} not added to apache config

The autoconfig.{domain} is added and this matches the Thunderbird client email discovery protocol.

http://www.officeformachelp.com/outlook/exchange/autodiscover/ and https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj900169(v=exchg.150).aspx show that the autodiscover.{domain} is used to aid outlook discovery.

Can this be added to Apache and Bind just like the autoconfig.{domain}

btw: happy sysadmin appreciation day

Does outlook use the same file format for the XML auto-discover file as Thunderbird though?

No, but it doesn't matter. The thunderbird and outlook methods differ on URLs. The autoconfig.cgi script determines if its thunderbird or outlook based on QUERY_STRING and REQUEST_METHOD.

Adding autodiscover.{domain} would support one of the earlier outlook URLs examined and allow for pushing the autodiscovery.{domain} to a different virtual server for those domains that has apache configuration that is incompatible with ScriptAlias /autodiscovery.../
