Allow use of subfolders of virtual domains as DocumentRoot

See T#36704 as a reference. I am able to get a subfolder of another virtual server as DocumentRoot for a specified virtual server, e.g. I want site1.pixeliph.com to have DocumentRoot /home/user/site2.pixeliph.com/public_html/subfolder - but site2.pixeliph.com is still a legitimate site. When I do this, I must set directives under site1.pixeliph.com to apply to the site2 folder. But, when I do this, the Website Options then defaults to run as apache. Can we have it so that it can still legitimately run under FCGid?

Howdy -- thanks for your suggestion!

We've had a few requests along those lines over the years, but unfortunately, it's really not designed to work that way.

Each individual Virtual Server is designed to have it's own separate DocumentRoot.

Our suggestion is that if you want a second domain to have a website, to place the website in the DocumentRoot setup for that particular site, rather than having two sites served out of the same DocumentRoot.

Another alternative is that you could setup something like subdomain.domain.com to redirect to domain.com/subdomain.

I absolutely understand that. Unfortunately, the way AfterLogic WebMail Pro PHP script's work for SabreDAV, that's a bit impractical. Their recommendation for using SabreDAV with iOS clients is to have the /dav folder as a root on a separate subdomain.

There's absolutely no way this can be done?
