hello
i assume i won't be able to just backup the webmin config from centos6 and restore it on centos7, is this correct?
whats the best way to migrate from 6 to 7. I have centos 7 and virtualmin installed from scratch on the new machine.
thanks

Howdy -- our recommended way of migrating from one server to another is described in the following documentation:
https://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/system/migrate
Let us know if you have any questions on that process!

yes, I have seen that but my question has nothing to do with moving virtual hosts. I need to know how to move the webmin+virtualmin CONFIG.
thanks

The Virtualmin config/settings are moved using the part of the procedure that imports the file "virtualmin.tar.gz".
That only moves Virtualmin related settings though, since Webmin settings are often distro and version specific, there isn't a procedure for migrating those. For settings relating to Webmin, those would need to be manually set on your new server.
