Error AWSTATS

hello, I receive the error AWStats message: Error: SiteDomain parameter not defined in your config / domain file. You must edit it for using this version of AWStats of. Setup ('/etc/awstats/awstats.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong. Check config file, permissions and AWStats documentation (in 'docs' directory).

I wonder if we are forced to keep because I do not use it for statistical site but I do not know if it is useful for other things? And if we have to leave, how to correct this error, I had not before and as I just installed Virtualmin on a new server and I have not touched anything in the config, I am surprised this error? kind regards Stephane

Where or how are you receiving this error - is it via email, or in the Virtualmin UI?

good evening, I received by email but addressed the root account Stephane

What is the output of this command:

cat /etc/cron.d/awstats

Hello

root@vps114635:~# cat /etc/cron.d/awstats
MAILTO=root

*/10 * * * * www-data [ -x /usr/share/awstats/tools/update.sh ] && /usr/share/awstats/tools/update.sh

# Generate static reports:
10 03 * * * www-data [ -x /usr/share/awstats/tools/buildstatic.sh ] && /usr/share/awstats/tools/buildstatic.sh

If you can tell me if it's required to keep it because I do not use it for statistics of my sites, I go through google analytics? So if I can uninstall the package more concern. thank you Stephane

You can actually resolve the issue you're seeing by commenting out all the lines in "/etc/cron.d/awstats".

Those should normally commented out as part of the installation process.

Commenting those out should prevent the emails you are seeing.

You don't need to remove it, and once you comment out those lines, it should no longer be active if it isn't enabled for your sites.

You can verify that it's not being used for your sites by going into System Settings -> Features and Plugins. There, verify that the "Awstats Reporting" feature is disabled.
