What is the advantage of using script installers/

Howdy -- the script installers simplifies the installation procedure, and helps with maintenance.

Rather than having to read the install instructions, download the archive, install it, and then configure it -- the Install Script does that all for you.

You just click one button, and it creates a database for you to use, installs the app, and configures it to use that database. It also notifies you when a new version is available and can perform the upgrade.

Oh, and as far as which is recommended -- that's entirely up to you, whichever is your preference, though we personally prefer to use the Install Scripts since they make it nice and easy :-)
