I have daily backups to Amazon S3 -and- FTP for my server (occurring about 12 hours apart from each other, backup takes less than one hour each), creating a subdirectory "server-backups-MM-DD-YYYY" in the root location, and creating a .tar.gz backup file for each virtual server's domain.
I have noticed several times over the last few weeks it has failed after uploading the first virtual server, and sends no warning email afterwards.
FYI, the same thing happens to both Amazon S3 and FTP...FTP fails everytime no matter what, and Amazon S3 fails about 75% of the time.
