Can't use up2date to install renewal on RHES 3ES

I can not use up2date to install renewal on RHES 3ES. up2date won't work with out channel, can't associate with channel with out RHN supscription, can't manage registrations/supscriptions with out a subscription to red hats management interface tool... I have no intention to pay US$400 a year to red hat just for updates. (worse than microsoft.

How would instal.sh need to be altered to run on RHES 3ES and not use up2date. Thank you.
