Not sure if this qualifies as a 'broken' function, but several of the installatin scripts complain about either not enough memory being assigned to php for script execution, or they require magic_quotes to be turned on.
I set those manually on my end, but am wondering if there's a way you can have them appropriately set by default - I have memory for scripts set to 32M, for example.
