Site Defaults to "option indices"! Home page index.shtml not served

I'm sure this is very, very simple. Somehow this site:

[[http://www.jnanandana.com]] is not serving the home page index.shtml. Instead: it is showing all files as if I had .htaccess set to show indices, but I don't!

And, foolishly, I had some mailing lists there as text files which I should have either deleted, stored outside public_html or encrypted... and they were stolen and used by spammers.

I searched the the Virtual Min Interface to try to find where to turn off the option to show indices for this site... but... can't find it
