.sentmail ghostfolder in Read Mail module

Hi,
the Read Mail module does always show a .sentmail folder and assign the language-specific label for the sent mail folder to it even though this folder does actually not exist. That's probably the very reason why it also cannot be deleted by the Read Mail module.

I have set the "Sent mail folder name" option of the Read Mail module to ".sent" rather as a temporary work-around. But some older user accounts may have different sent mail folders, so this isn't a final solution.

The default sent mail folder on systems using Maildir format is Maildir/.sentmail .

Is your issue that users on your system are already using a different folder name?

The default sent mail folder on my systems currently is and will be Maildir/.sent. Unfortunately, the Read Mail module does not automatically recognize and use it, but always shows up a .sentmail folder which does not even exist (on my systems).

In Virtualmin, try going to Webmin -> Usermin Configuration -> Usermin Module Configuration -> Read Mail -> Default user preferences and setting " Sent mail folder name" to .sent

I've already tried as I have written in comment #1. But still it does show this .sentmail ghostfolder and also labels it with the language-specific translation (see attachment).

On the "Default user preferences" page, make sure that the checkbox next to the "Sent mail folder name" option is un-checked, so that it can't be over-ridden by users.

Ok, that might be an interim solution. However, as I've mentioned, there are also older user accounts which actually have a .sentmail subdirectory. Therefore, it would be much better, if the Read Mail module automatically looks for any folder containing the phrase "sent" in it and use it as sent mail folder.

One work-around would be to rename the .sentmail folder to .sent for users who already have that folder.

But then, their e-mail clients would go crazy and subsequently, the users either.

In addition, not insisting on a .sentmail folder, but looking for any folder with the phrase "sent" in it if no .sentmail folder exists, sounds like a very simple and easy-to-implement solution to me.
