Hi,
Very often Virtualmin newbies are confused how to get access details to their websites simply because they didn't indicate contact e-mail addresses during creating virtual servers (websites). The default "Contact email address > Administrator's mailbox" is not helpful very much as very often users don't know how to read the default admin mailbox. So it would be great if Virtualmin had an options somewhere to make "Contact email address > Other address.." filed must to enter some e-mail address. Or to choose admins old or new approaches.
Thanks!

So are you thinking of a restriction that would apply to domain owners, or to the root user?

I am suggesting to keep the current behavior, however at the same time would be nice to configure Virtualmin in such a way, that it is obligatory for both root or regular user to provide e-mail address when creating new virtual servers.

Sure, I will add a config option to force a contact email address to be supplied in the next release.

Where we should look for the settings?

That'll be in one of the sections in System Settings -> Virtualmin Config.
After the next release is out, if you don't see it, let us know and we can tell you which one specifically :-)

Hi,
I could not find the new setting neither in "Default for new domains" or "Advanced options".
Virtualmin version 4.02.gpl GPL

Howdy -- there actually hasn't been a new Virtualmin version released yet, though Joe and Jamie are working on getting one out here shortly.

Yesterday I've upgraded bunch of boxes from Virtualmin repository, I thought that was a new release. Probably it was something else. Sorry.

You're absolutely correct, Webmin and Usermin were recently updated... and soon there will be a Virtualmin release as well.
Feel free to let us know if you don't see that option once it's released.

Virtualmin version 4.03 has been now released and still there is no option to make users to enter their contact e-mail addresses during creation of virtual servers. So probably it is best to leave this issue active until this is addressed than checking and coming back here to just re-open the ticket very time?

That option is available in System Settings -> Virtualmin Config -> User Interface Settings. At the bottom of that screen, you can set "Contact email address is mandatory".
